Meet Leo

We have a new member of the family, at least until May. Leo comes to us from our friends the Gilgans, whose vagabond lifestyle takes them again to Indonesia for the winter. This suits us very well, because we were having a tough time finding a good forever dog to lift our spirits through the SAD season.

He is a blend of Sheltie and Corgi, body styles that make him resemble a tumbleweed with a very handsome head and cheerful, perky ears. He is ten years old, and very calm and friendly with people and other dogs. He walks well on the leash.

His family were all sad to see him go, and we can only help by reassuring them that he is in caring, loving hands and he’s already finding a place in our hearts.

Bright and not too early tomorrow we’ll be off for a walk at Centennial beach, which ought to be a familiar experience for the old sea dog. Tuesday is my usual day at Gingel Stairs, which will probably be a challenge for him, with his short legs. That’s okay; he doesn’t have to do all six laps. Corgis are known to be good runners, so we will go into the experience with high hopes 😊

Watch this space for news as the latest member of the family settles in.
