A Letter from …?

This draft letter was leaked by a high-ranking member of the PMO yesterday. Due to the position of the whistle-blower, his motivation is suspect. I leave it to the reader to decide:

Letter to the Citizens of Canada

Dear VotersFriends,

I have learned a few things over the past week year. The way we have been acting in government and society is not good enough. So I want to share what I learned with you, and what the Liberal Party intends to do about it:

  1. Racism

I always thought you only had to deal with overt racism. That’s not good enough. The passive racism typified by the, “I didn’t mean any harm, so what’s your problem?” attitude still hurts the recipient.

  1. Sexism

I learned that you can talk all you want about women being equal, but if you insist that they act equal in a male world, you’re not really walking the walk.

  1. Politics

I learned that the old, PMO-centred way of doing things sometimes doesn’t work.

  1. Voters

I learned that voters like it when politicians keep their promises. Who knew?

  1. Electioneering

I learned that mudslinging as a political tactic is a bad idea. Mud is certainly sticky stuff, isn’t it? Doesn’t wash off your hands easily at all.

  1. Growing Up

Young people shouldn’t indulge in stupidity, because sooner or later it will come back to bite them.

As a result, the Liberal Party of Canada has changed its campaign for this election. We will…

The letter is unfinished and unsigned. Will ever be sent?
